Privacy Policy

YOURIO is made by JIAJI COMPANY LIMITED (Taiwan Tax ID 54255401), “we”. This policy covers the YOURIO apps for iPhone and Android, YOURIO Receiver for Mac and Windows, and this website. The short version: what you say stays on your device unless you choose an AI feature that needs the cloud, and we never receive your words, recordings or Memory.

1. What stays on your device

  • Your voice. Speech recognition runs on your phone's own on-device engine. Audio is processed as you speak and is never recorded, saved or sent to us.
  • Translation. Real-time translation uses language packs installed on your device.
  • Memory. When Memory is on, the text of what you dictate (never audio) is stored in a database inside the app on your phone. You can turn Memory off, use Private mode, or delete records at any time. Uninstalling the app deletes all of it. We have no copy and no account system, so nothing is synced to us.
  • Text you save on purpose. Text or screenshots you share to YOURIO are read on the device; only the recognized text is kept, in Memory.
  • Personal dictionary and style. Words YOURIO learns from your corrections, and your personal style instructions, are stored on your device.
  • Magic Standard (removing filler words, adding punctuation) runs entirely on your device, offline.

2. AI features you connect yourself

Magic Enhanced, Edit and Ask Memory work only after you add your own AI provider (OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, OpenRouter or OpenCode Go) or your own self-hosted model (Ollama, LM Studio). When you use them:

  • The text you are working on — and for Ask Memory, only the records you approve before sending — goes directly from your device to the provider you chose. It does not pass through our servers. Audio is never sent.
  • That provider processes the text under its own terms and privacy policy, and bills you directly.
  • Your API keys are stored in your device's secure storage (iOS Keychain, Android Keystore) and are never sent to us.
  • With a self-hosted model, the text goes only to the address you entered.

3. Using your phone as a microphone (Mac and Windows)

  • Your phone recognizes your speech; only the final text is sent to your computer, end-to-end encrypted with a key created when you pair by QR code. YOURIO Receiver types it at your cursor and keeps no history of what you said.
  • On the same Wi-Fi, the phone and computer talk directly. When they cannot reach each other, the connection may go through our relay (relay.yourio.app, run on Cloudflare). The relay only forwards encrypted data it cannot read; it does not store content. Your IP address is used briefly to limit abuse and is not logged by us.
  • The Windows app keeps a small local log of events and character counts (never the text) to help with troubleshooting.

4. Permissions the apps ask for

  • Microphone and speech recognition — to turn your voice into text, only while you are dictating.
  • Camera — only to scan the pairing QR code for Mac or Windows.
  • Local network — to connect to your computer on the same Wi-Fi.
  • Keyboard (optional; on iPhone with Full Access so it can talk to the YOURIO app on the device) — so you can dictate in other apps. It looks at the text field only to notice when you correct a word it just inserted, so the personal dictionary can learn. It does not record or send what you type.
  • Accessibility (Mac) — to detect the talk key and type at your cursor.

5. This website

  • Visits are counted with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and does not track you across sites.
  • Downloads are counted by file, country and the page you came from.
  • One cookie remembers the language you pick.
  • Support messages. If you contact us through the support page, we receive your email address and message by email and use them only to reply. You can ask us to delete them.
  • Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the site.

6. What we don't do

No accounts, no ads, no tracking or analytics SDKs in the apps, and we never sell or share personal information. We don't use your content to train AI models.

7. Children

YOURIO is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

8. Your choices and rights

Your content lives on your device, so you control it directly: turn Memory off, delete records, or uninstall the app. For anything we hold (support emails), you can ask for access, correction or deletion through the support page. We respond in line with applicable law, including Taiwan's Personal Data Protection Act and, where it applies, the GDPR.

9. Changes

If this policy changes — for example if we add optional paid AI features — we will update this page and its effective date before the change takes effect.
